Declutter something that you have had for a really long time but no longer love or have a use for. Sometimes we keep things out of habit just because they have nearly always been a part of our lives. Is there something you own that no longer serves a purpose for you?

I have a quilt that was made for me by a dear friend who cames to visit often. I have never used it because she gave it to me right after we moved and I don’t have the color she used in my home anymore. I feel terrible that she put all that work into it and I don’t use it. It’s a beautiful quilt. I really don’t want it but I know it will hurt her feelings if I give it back to her. I’m trying to find a way to display it without it looking funny because it doesn’t go with my colors. I’ve thought about getting one of those racks that you can put blankets and quilts on and hanging it on it along with a couple of other things that are similar.

Deb, I was wondering if you could actually USE your quilt as just that instead of a display or spread. If it was under your bedspread as a quilt, you could enjoy its beauty without it being on display and it wouldn’t matter about the colors (unless you are super picky. Ha!).

Brenda, if we lived somewhere cooler I would do that. Unfortunately, living in the Phoenix area I don’t use anything but a sheet. I din’t even own a bedspread cause it just gets in the way.
