Mini Mission Monday is about finding ten minutes a day to declutter. To make it easy for you, each Monday I set seven declutter missions, one for each day of the week for you to follow. It takes the guess work out of decluttering and makes it easy and “fun” for you to achieve some quick decluttering.
For this weeks mini mission I thought I would just pick some random areas around the house that you might not of decluttered anything from for a while. If you don’t have some of these categories to declutter from substitute them with ones of your own. Perhaps someone will come up with a crazy declutter item to share with us and give us all a laugh. Come on use your imaginations.
Monday – Something off the wall. Perhaps a piece of artwork that you really don’t like but it stays there out of habit.
Tuesday – Something in the garden shed. We all know this area can get quite neglected before it gets any real attention. How about just having a quick look and seeing what you can find in there to declutter.
Wednesday – Some paperwork you know you should have taken care of by now. Old manuals that you no longer have the item to which they belong, receipts that are way past return dates, tax papers from years ago. I am sure you can find something in this category to declutter.
Thursday – Something pet related. I have no pets but I am sure I am in the minority. Or perhaps you had one but don’t anymore but still have the equipment tucked into the back of a cupboard or shed somewhere. Now is the time to find what you don’t use and either through it away if it is beyond repair or perhaps donate it to the animal shelter if it isn’t.
Friday – Old keys. Now this may not be a problem if you haven’t moved house for a while but for those of us who move around a bit it is an ongoing issue. Get any old keys together that you aren’t sure are still current and check them in every lock in the house before throwing them away. Be careful that you check every lock.
Saturday – An old souvenir. Anyone who had ever been out of their front door has usually collected the odd souvenir during their travels. I am sure you have at least one among your collection that really doesn’t mean much to you.
Sunday – A beauty product that you just know is going to keep getting pushed to the back behind your favourites. Either use it up like Cindy suggested last week or give or throw it away. These things do go out of date you know ~ link here for more details.
Good luck and happy decluttering
Today’s Declutter Item
You will know I am done with decluttering when we run out of baseball souvenirs. I don’t think that will be any time soon.
Something I Am Grateful For Today
We are having dinner quests tonight, friends that we seem to see all too infrequently these days. I am glad they have a break in the schedule to spend some time with us. To keep things simple I am cooking a roast dinner. Roast dinners are so easy to prepare and that will give me optimal time with my guests. I am grateful to have good friends, good food and the opportunity to combine the two.

Colleen,
This is not on today’s topic, but I wanted you to see my post and pictures of my side of the closet. I’ve been wanting to put this up ever since you posted your own closet pictures.
Here’s the link – since you know me (sort of), you’ll know I’m not spamming you:

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Chelle,
I went over to read your post and left you a comment there. I hope it was helpful. Medication can be such pain, it fixes one thing but messes with another. I hope things improve for you soon!

Thanks, Colleen. I got your comment and I appreciate it. Can you believe the big empty that is my closet right now? I really can’t!
The meds are currently worth the side effects. Unfortunately, my wardrobe is a casualty of the medications. I suppose this too shall pass in one way or another.
Not sure where I would declutter seven items from this week, but I suspect I would want to do someone else’s clutter and that’s not mine to do. My husband’s office and his work bench in the garage – I would love to back up a big truck and start dumping stuff in. Useful or not! But, I leave it there cause I love him.
I still have shelves of books, but have parted with so many, I’m not sure I’m ready to give up any more. The kitchen has been partially decluttered and, again, is more my husband’s domain. I may be getting to the simple maintenance portion of the decluttering, although I supposed I haven’t exactly been ruthless when it comes to drawers and cabinets. And there is still my basement….ahhh, that basement!
Hugs,
Chelle

Hi Chelle,
decluttering every week isn’t compulsory maybe it is time you took a break for a while to regroup. Give yourself some to to think about where to go with it next or maybe realise you are done.
