Mini Mission Monday is about finding ten minutes a day to declutter. To make it easy for you, each Monday I set seven declutter missions, one for each day of the week for you to follow. It takes the guess work out of decluttering and makes it easy and “fun” for you to achieve some quick decluttering.
This weeks mini missions will take you to a different area of your house each day. I will name a room/area and all you have to do is find one thing from there to declutter. If you don’t have one of these areas either declutter a second thing from one of the other areas or choose from an area you have that I may not have mentioned.
Monday -Declutter something from a bedroom.
Tuesday – Declutter something from a bathroom.
Wednesday – Declutter something from your kitchen.
Thursday – Declutter something form your storage room. Be that attic, garage, back shed, basement…
Friday – Declutter something from your living room.
Saturday – Declutter something from outside. Whether from your garden, porch, balcony…
Sunday - Sunday is reserved for contemplating one particular item, of your choice that is proving difficult for you to declutter. Whether that be for sentimental reasons, practical reasons, because the task is laborious or simply unpleasant, or because the items removal requires the cooperation of another person. That last category may mean that the item belongs to someone else who has to give their approval, it could also mean there is a joint decision to be made or it could mean that the task of removing it requires assistance from someone else. There is no need to act on this contemplation immediately, it is more about formulating a plan to act upon or simply making a decision one way or another.
Good luck and happy decluttering
It matters not how fast I go, I hurry faster when I’m slow

Colleen, I haven’t been doing much in the way of decluttering because I have a box full that I need to take to the women’s shelter thrift store. We still need to tackle the kitchen for the inventory and we have been putting it off. I need to use these mini-missions and get with it again.

I have a box going off to goodwill this morning before I head out of town for the night with my daughters. I like to do a drop off before heading out of town, I guess its one less chore or unfinished business to come back to. My parents are coming to stay for the weekend later in the month so these mini missions will be ideal as I do a quick Spring Clean before they arrive.

These mini missions are very helpful for those times when I’m uninspired to find something. I was caught up with the daily decluttering until I got home from vacation and needed a kick in the pants to get me rolling again. Today’s item from the bedroom was a decorative clock that’s been in a closet for almost 20 years. And I still hesitated, for some reason, probably because it was a gift. I finally asked myself, would I purchase this again today? Nope-it’s not my taste today and I don’t need it. Besides, how “decorative” can it be if it’s sitting in a closet? It felt good to release it to the donation box.

Hi, I haven’t been following for long. So far this wk I have taken one item from each of the mini mission rooms and taken to an opportunity shop, (I’m Australian). Is what I did the right idea? Thank you for helping me sort my stuff/life.

Hi Donna G and welcome to 365 Less Things. You have got the right idea alright. You don’t need to run off to the op shop too often though, just when you have accumulated enough stuff to make the trip worth the effort. Well done though.
Where in Australia are you from Donna? I live in Newcastle NSW.

Hi Colleen, I live in gorgeous North Queensland on the coast at Townsville. We have a wonderful lifestyle. Bye for now.
