Declutter something you bought but never used. And give some serious thought to your acquisition habits. Recreational shopping is a big cause of clutter, a waste of hard earned money and not at all environmentally friendly.

Declutter some sort of ingredient or medium for making stuff with. This might be a chance to make that recipe you’ve been meaning to try with that obscure but unused item in your pantry. Or it might be the inspiration for a craft project. I know which one I am going to choose. Craft of course!

Declutter something from under a bed,  hiding in the linen closet or in the bottom of a wardrobe. We all have items like this.

With very little storage space in a two bedroom apartment we store our out of season clothing in bags under the bed. I haven’t fully made the transition between seasons yet but maybe this mission could be my inspiration.

I’ve done it again. Monday has come and gone and I forgot the mini Mission. And it is almost 11 before Tuesday’s is published. I’m not sure why people keep following me. 😜

Monday – Declutter something that was not used last season, especially if that item lay idle during the same season last year.

Tuesday – Declutter something work related, whether that be home work, paid work or school work.

There is a briefcase sitting at my front door waiting to be dropped off at the thrift shop. I have to admit it has been sitting there for some weeks. But on the up side there is now an old laptop inside of it to also be donated.

Go through a box of stuff you have had stored stored somewhere out of sight out of mind for a long time. Chances are, if you haven’t looked in it for an eon, then you don’t need to keep what is inside of it.

Declutter a potted plant that is not pleasing to the eye, whether it be real or fake. There is nothing pleasing about a live plant that looks sick or a fake one that has seen better days or is covered in dust and cobwebs.

Alternately, do what you can to revive this plant and bring it back to its former glory.

If you have no plants find a decorative item within your home that could do with decluttering or some sprucing up.

Declutter something that you have been considering getting rid of for a long time. It is still isn’t being used, or doesn’t please you then it is about time you let it go.

Take a look in the place where you keep underwear and socks. Declutter any items you tend to avoid using.

Declutter some some excess items for your linen closet. Most people have more of these items than are necessary.

Declutter a couple of useless things from a kitchen cupboard or drawer. Possible to make room for something that usually resides on the cluttered bench top. It is difficult to keep a kitchen clean when there is stuff all over the benches. Alternately, if you are a person who has none kitchen related objects cluttering up your kitchen benches maybe it is time to clear them out and change this habit.
